For storing or gaining access to information through cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the website or for providing a service requested by the visitor, we rely on the visitor's consent.

Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent if they are required to ensure the transmission of a communication or to provide an information society service expressly requested by the visitor.

4. What cookies we use

We use or may use different categories of cookies on the website according to their purpose.

Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the basic and secure operation of the online store and for providing functions expressly requested by the visitor or customer.

For example, they enable:

  • the operation of the shopping cart,
  • the processing of individual steps of the order,
  • customer login, if the relevant function is used,
  • proper and secure display of the website,
  • a secure order and payment process,
  • remembering technical website settings,
  • storing information about cookie consent settings,
  • protecting the online store against misuse.

Visitor consent is not required for the use of strictly necessary cookies if they meet the conditions laid down by applicable legislation.

The visitor may technically restrict or block cookies through the settings of their web browser. However, blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause some parts of the online store or some of its functions not to work properly.

Legal regime:
Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on Electronic Communications – storage of or access to information necessary for providing a service requested by the user.

5. Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the online store, which pages they visit and how they navigate the website.

We use in particular:

  • Google Analytics 4.

Through analytics tools, information may be processed, for example, about:

  • the number of visits to the website,
  • pages and products visited,
  • time spent on the website,
  • how the online store is used,
  • the source from which the visitor arrived at the website,
  • technical characteristics of the device, operating system and web browser.

We use this information primarily to evaluate website traffic and to improve the functionality, content and user experience of the online store.

We use analytics cookies only after the visitor has given consent through the cookie banner or the relevant cookie settings.

Legal basis for the processing of personal data:
Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent of the data subject.

6. Marketing cookies

We use marketing cookies to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, evaluate conversions and display more relevant advertising.

We use in particular:

  • Google Ads, including conversion and remarketing functions.

Marketing cookies may enable us in particular to:

  • measure the success and conversions of advertising campaigns,
  • evaluate whether a visitor arrived at the website through an advertisement,
  • create remarketing audiences,
  • display advertisements to visitors who have previously visited the online store,
  • limit repeated display of the same advertisement,
  • adapt advertising content based on previous interaction with the website.

We use marketing cookies only after the visitor has given consent.

Legal basis for the processing of personal data:
Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent of the data subject.

7. Third-party cookies and services

When certain functions of the online store are used, cookies or similar technologies may also be provided by third parties.

These include in particular services or technologies provided by the following entities:

  • Shoptet, a.s. – provider of the e-commerce platform and related technical services,
  • Google Ireland Limited – in particular Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, if the visitor has given the relevant consent,
  • other providers of technical services that may be necessary for the proper operation of the online store.

Individual providers may process data in their own name and in accordance with their own privacy terms when their services are used.

Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and other optional analytics or marketing technologies whose use requires consent are activated only after the visitor has given the relevant consent.

8. Transfers of data to third countries

When certain third-party services are used, in particular services provided by the Google group, data may under certain circumstances be processed or transferred outside the European Economic Area.

If personal data are transferred to a third country, such transfer takes place only under the conditions laid down by the GDPR, in particular on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission, an applicable recognised framework or Standard Contractual Clauses and, where appropriate, additional suitable safeguards.

9. Cookie banner and giving consent

When visiting the website, the visitor may use the cookie banner or cookie settings to decide which optional categories of cookies they consent to.

The visitor may in particular:

  • accept all optional cookies,
  • reject all optional cookies,
  • allow only selected categories of cookies, if the cookie banner provides this option,
  • later change or withdraw consent already given.

Rejecting optional analytics or marketing cookies does not affect the ability to use the basic functions of the online store.

Before the relevant consent has been given, optional analytics and marketing cookies whose use requires consent must not be activated.

10. Changing or withdrawing consent

The visitor may change or withdraw consent to the use of optional cookies at any time through the cookie settings available on the website, if this function is provided by the cookie banner.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the use of cookies and the processing of personal data carried out before consent was withdrawn.

The visitor may also manage or delete cookies through the settings of their web browser.

11. Duration of use and storage of cookies

The duration of use of individual cookies depends on their purpose and the settings of the relevant service.

Cookies may in particular be:

  • session cookies – generally deleted after the web browser is closed,
  • persistent cookies – remain stored for the configured validity period or until the user deletes them.

The specific names, purposes and validity periods of individual cookies may change depending on the version of the e-commerce platform, the settings of the services used and the visitor's consent.

Current information about individual cookies may also be available directly in the cookie banner settings of the online store.

12. Protection of personal data

If information obtained through cookies or similar technologies constitutes personal data, we process such data in accordance with applicable personal data protection legislation.

Detailed information about the processing of personal data, recipients, data retention periods, the rights of data subjects and the Controller's contact details is provided in the separate Privacy Policy available on the www.trofion.com website.
